Gloria

The photographs of the movie theater entrances were taken in Magdeburg, a medium-sized city in Eastern Germany. The entrances, some of which are no longer recognizable, point to the market-oriented urban development after 1989. The title of the series refers to the name of one of the cinemas where the artist saw most of the films as a child and teenager. After standing empty for years, this former movie theater is now open as a "Penny Markt".
